Position Title: Project Mananger
Reports To: Owner
Position Type: Full-Time, Salary/Exempt
Position Overview:
Field Day Development is hiring a driven and self-motivated Project Manager with experience or interest in the field of real estate, property development or construction. This position will work directly with clients and project partners to ensure deliverables are being provided and key milestones are being met, on time and under budget. A successful candidate must have excellent communication and organization skills, as well as the ability to advocate for the needs of Field Day’s clients amongst various partners. Candidates should be passionate about meaningful urban development and enjoy working with other professionals who believe in creating a sustainable and vibrant urban landscape.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Job responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:
- Coordinate activity of all partners (e.g., architects, contractors, brokers, legal, accounting)
- Attend and manage construction project status meetings
- Create and manage project budgets and track expenses during the course of the project
- Attend design meetings, review drawing sets, and offer feedback during the design phase to ensure the design meets the client’s needs
- Create and manage project schedules
- Coordinate bid specifications, solicit competitive bids, and make recommendations regarding contracted services
- Maintain project documentation (e.g., drawings, survey, specifications, budgets)
- Assist client in securing owner provided items (e.g., furniture, signage, technology, equipment)
- Review, approve, and track scope changes during construction
- Advocate for the client and project in all aspects
Must-Have Skills and Qualifications:
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to thrive in a small business setting
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Exemplary planning and time management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Extremely organized, with ability to locate information quickly and efficiently
- Technologically savvy with the ability to easily learn building systems and other technology
- Ability to manage various activities, goals and deadlines efficiently and effectively
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-pace environment
- Collaborative approach to problem-solving that supports understanding and communication
- Ability to create and maintain budgets, Proformas, and cashflows in Microsoft Excel
- Proficient in MS Office suite, particularly Excel
- Acts with discretion and confidentiality
- Five or more years of project management experience
Nice to Have, But Not Required:
- Knowledge of real estate and/or construction process
- Experience with estimating and bidding of projects
- Knowledge and understanding of architectural drawings and the ability to identify any errors in design and proposal in the initial stages
- Previous experience with renovation of commercial projects
- Bachelor’s degree in project management, business, real estate finance, construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field
